Duration : 08 Nights / 09 Days Destinations Covered : Delhi – Jaipur – Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Varanasi – Khajuraho - Delhi DAY 01 : DELHI ARRIVAL On Delhi arrival traditional welcome by Trailblazers India executive and transferred to your hotel. (Delhi has seen its rise and fall of many empires and each dynasty of kings has left behind monuments and memories to commemorate the grandeur of bygone days. Very few cities in the world offer such diversity in architectural styles as Delhi. The old city of Delhi today stands as an epitome of the whole history of Indo- Islamic architecture). Overnight. DAY 02 : DELHI Today sightseeing tour of Delhi which includes Red Fort- built by Shah Jehan in 1648, Humayun's Tomb- built in 16th century and the precursor to the Taj Mahal, drive past Safdarjang Tomb and visit Qutab Minar - a 72-meter high tower believed to be the most perfect tower of the Persian world. The iron pillar in the same complex has not rusted over 1500years. Drive pass Embassy area and see Rastrapati Bhawan- the Presidential Palace, India Gate and the Parliament House. In the evening visit local market for shopping. Overnight. DAY 03 : DELHI - JAIPUR (240 Kms) Morning after breakfast drive to Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur in 4-5 hrs drive time & check in to the hotel. (Jaipur- desingned by a young Bengali architect in 1727, it is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the universe. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India. Palaces, Forts and sublime architecture with a strong influence of Hindu, Jain and Mughal styles make Jaipur most interesting. Colourful bazaars and warm people are the pride of Jaipur). Afternoon, sightseeing tour of the city visiting the City Palace & Museum, Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Wind and the Jantar Matar - the astronomical observatory. Overnight. DAY 04 : JAIPUR – AGRA This morning excursion to Amber Fort where you will ascend this hilltop on elephant back or Jeep. (The 10th century Amber Fort is ringed by hills, with ramparts guarding all approaches and watch-towers set at strategic points. Windows pierce the high walls at points impossible to break in from the outside, and staircase are deliberately narrow so that they could be held by the single warrior allowing members of the royal family and the army to flee to more strategic locations. Of special interest in the fort is the Sheesh Mahal or Hall of Mirrors studded into its walls and ceiling. It glows like a jeweled cavern in the early morning or evening light, but with all doors closed and a candle lit at its center, transports you into the heart of a diamond). FATEHPUR SIKRI – AGRA : Later leave for Agra. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. (Fatehpur Sikri, about 37 kms from Agra, was one of the capital cities of Mughal Emperor Akbar and derives its name from the fact that Akbar marched from here and conquered Gujarat in 1652. Te city is rectangular in shape with nine huge Gates. The whole complex is made of red sandstone and is an architectural masterpiece which has been declared a World Heritage Site. Also situated here is the Tomb of the famous Sufi Saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti). Arrive Agra in the late afternoon and check into the hotel. Overnight. (Agra, grew in prominence under the rule of Mughal Empire in 1526, reaching its zenith between 1556 and 1658 under the successive rules of Akbar, Shah Jehan & Jehangir. Akbar's reign was memorable in the city's history when it became a leading center of art, science, commerce, culture, drawing intellectuals and artists to its Darbars and Havelis. The Red Fort or Agra Fort, on the bank of River Yamuna is surrounded by high red sandstone walls. It was built by successive emperors from the 1570s and combines Akbar's walls and tiled gates with Shah Jehan's delicate Pearl Mosque and once- elegant palace. Other attractions here include The Dewan-i-Am, The Dewan-I-Khas and Jodhbai's Palace. The Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula is situated opposite the Taj Mahal, on the other side of the River Yamuna and houses a magnificient mausoleum of Ghias Beg, the father of Empress Noor Jehan.The 17th century Taj Mahal is a marble mausoleum built by Shah Jehan for his empress Mumtaz Mahal. The construction is believed to have taken 22 years to complete with over 22000 craftsmen working round the clock. However, many images you may have seen of the Taj Mahal, the reality is still breathtaking. Its scale stupendous and its surface ever changing with the light). DAY 05 : AGRA – VARANASI Early morning Sun rise tour of Taj Mahal, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later visit the Agra Fort & Sikandara. In the evening transfer to Tundla railway station to connect train at 2030 hrs for Varanasai. Dinner & overnight onboard. DAY 06 : VARANASI Arrive Varanasi at 0620 hrs and transfer to the hotel for wash and breakfast. Today city tour of Varanasi including boat ride on river Ganges, Benaras Hindu University & evening free to see the holy arti on the ghats of Ganges. Overnight. DAY 07 : VARANASI – KHAJURAHO (flight) After breakfast on time transfer to the airport to board a flight to Khajuraho. On arrival met and transfer to the hotel. Later proceed for a guided tour of Khajuraho to visit the ancient eastern and western groups of temple to see the lovely handwork of the ancient artisans carved on the temple. Overnight. DAY 08 : KHAJURAHO – DELHI – HOME After breakfast visit southern group of temple and the Jain temples of Khajuraho before proceeding to airport to board a flight to Delhi. On arrival met and transfer to the hotel for wash & change. After dinner transfer to the International airport to board the homebound flight and terminate our services. OR DAY 08 : KHAJURAHO – ORCHHA Morning after breakfast visit southern group of temple and the Jain temples of Khajuraho. After lunch drive to Orchha. Arrive Orchha & check into the hotel. Orchha's grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy to the ages. In this medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces and temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries retain much of their pristine perfection. Overnight at Betwa Cottages or Sheesh Mahal. DAY 09 : ORCHHA – JHANSI – DELHI Morning city tour visiting Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Chaturbhuj Temple, Phool Bagh & Chhatris (Cenotaphs). Afternoon transfer to the Jhansi railway station to connect Shatabdi Express for Delhi. Dinner onboard. Arrive New Delhi railway station around 2245hrs, pickup and transfer to the international airport to connect return/ onward flight.
